LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Get the party started! All of our favorite TV stars will be on the red carpet Sunday night for the 2011 Emmy® Awards. It’s the perfect excuse to invite friends over and eat, drink – and dish about the stars.

Trust me – it’s a lot more fun to critique the looks with friends than shouting at the TV “Can you believe she wore that?!” all by yourself.” Never fun!

Cheap Sally Dance Party Will Rock BlogHer ’11 – Private Party

We are excited to announce that we are planning a party this August 5th at BlogHer’11 with our old friends at Social Fabric (the Collective Bias Community) and our new Friends at Cheap Sally!

As 3,500 bloggers converge on San Diego for one of the most popular annual blogger conferences, Blogher, on August 5-6th, the buzz will be all about the social scene. Coveted invites will be the talk of the town as bloggers juggle their “party schedule”, looking to connect with both brands and bloggers, experience San Diego, and have some fun.

On the top of Friday night’s dance card is the Cheap Sally Dance Party, a chic invite-only event hosted by Cheap Sally, designed by us (Party Bluprints) and powered by Social Fabric (Collective Bias’ network). The organizers of the Cheap Sally Dance Party, Jeff Church – CEO of Flank Digital which also owns Cheap Sally, Dawn Sandomeno and Elizabeth Mascali – founders of Party Bluprints Inc., and Brent Robinson – VP of Strategy Collective Bias, joined forces with one goal in mind – to make bloggers feel special. Mr. Church states, “we recognize how valuable and powerful bloggers are and wanted to treat them to an unique experience.” Brands such as Sears, AETN’s Lifetime Moms, and Big Fuel likewise recognize just how influential bloggers are and are excited to have the opportunity to connect with them face to face.

The Cheap Sally Dance Party will be in full swing from 5:30 pm -9:00 pm on the rooftop of San Diego’s hottest nightclub, Stingaree, and will treat guests to a posh party: open premium bar; a delectable dinner and array of desserts; and, of course, dancing. Adding to the scrumptious nature of the party will be a guest appearance by Brian Malarkey, Celebrity Chef, Top Chef finalist and chef/owner of restaurants, Searsucker and Burlap. Stingaree owner, James Brennan, states, “This will be a party that people are still talking about year after year.” In addition to the indulgences, the evening has been designed to offer an intimate opportunity for bloggers to connect with brands.

One of the most exciting elements of the evening will be the kick-off of the “$100,000 Bring Home the Bacon with Cheap Sally” Contest. Beginning this September, leading coupon website will be on the search for America’s best online coupon saver“  We believe that digital couponing is beneficial to a diverse group of online users, not just consumers who are struggling financially,” says Jeff Church. “We’re seeing that to be true in the fact that as economic conditions improve, we’re experiencing continued demand for coupons on Cheap Sally.  People have realized they need to be smarter about how they shop and that deals are available if you know where to look for them. With this contest, we are seeking to show how the average consumer can really save tremendously by using digital coupons.   Partygoers will be the first to hear the juicy details of this dream job officially announced by Cheap Sally.

Although all the exclusive invites have been sent, there is still a chance to win one at the Cheap Sally Twitter Party to be held the week preceding the Dance Party, date to be announced on – connect on twitter at #cheapsallyparty.

Chocolate Soiree For Valentine’s Day! – Good Day NY Segment

Our Good Day NY segment…

New York News | New York Breaking News | NYC Headlines

We have been listening and we hear you loud and clear. You’re passionate about Valentine’s Day – some of you love it and some of you don’t! If you are one of those who feel it’s too commercial, too expensive or there is too much focus on romance, try our tips and give V-Day a “take-two”! We came up with a party idea that will melt even the biggest cynic’s heart.

This dessert and cocktail party is easy, less expensive than a full-blown affair and most importantly, it’s inclusive not exclusive.  You can host couples, ladies-only or mix it up and let everyone celebrate their love affair with chocolate. This Chocolate Soiree has 3 basic elements – Candlelight, Cabernet and Chocolate.  Start after the dinner hour and see how simple it is to share, have fun and indulge for the night.  Serve chocolate in all its sinful forms; baked, solid and liquid.  Pair the chocolate with a velvety smooth cabernet (we love Hess Select), and with traditional items (nuts, orange, raspberry, etc.) and the unexpected (bacon and chile) to create a sumptuous spread your guests will love!  You can read the detailed Chocolate Soiree party plan (our bluprint) in Plan To Party.

Where to find the products we featured on Good Day New York:

1. CocoLuxe Fine Pastries, Peapack, New Jersey,

  • Chocolate Raspberry Heart-shaped Cake
  • Dark chocolate truffles
  • Chocolate dipped candied orange slices

Reflective light is the hot theme for the 2010 holiday season. Venice is the ‘City of Light and Water,’ making it a perfect backdrop for holiday celebrations. As light is a common thread in many faiths, it suits all guests and existing holiday decor. A tough economy doesn’t mean you can’t glam it up. Here are 4 tips to add that special sparkle to your celebration:

New York News | New York Breaking News | NYC Headlines

1. Dress up existing holiday décor. Introduce several inexpensive basics: candles, glass vases, and gold accents. Candlelight en masse is an inexpensive way to make your home and table radiant. Collect glass cylinder vases, floating candles and gold embellishments you already have to easily and inexpensively decorate for your party. Big Bonus: gold is the perfect embellishment to existing holiday decorations – it complements all holiday color schemes. This simple combination of candlelight and gold will make everything shine, including your guests.

For more ideas on using gold decor for your holiday party go>

2. Infuse festivity into your party by featuring a signature cocktail. The Bellini, Venice’s “signature” cocktail, will immediately make your guests feel special and festive. They don’t have to know how much time, money and effort you saved by serving a signature cocktail in lieu of setting up a full bar. Also, this spirited cocktail feels like you’re drinking extravagant champagne while its base is Prosecco, Italy’s sparkling wine sold at a much lower price point than Champagne – same effect less money.

Our recipe for the Bellini:

  • 1 oz white peach puree
  • 4 oz of prosecco

The white peach puree we featured on Good Day NY is our pick for a great Bellini and came from the Perfect Puree. You can order online.

3. Share your holiday cheer with a crowd. Plan a buffet instead of a sit-down dinner. Offer a variety of menu items that hold up well on a buffet and can be eaten cocktail-style. In keeping with the Venetian spirit, serve Venetian-inspired Cicchetti, Venice’s version of tapas. Choose items that are satisfying yet affordable (e.g., Rice Balls, Rialto Baked Polenta), which can be prepared and displayed before guests arrive.

The rice balls we featured on Good Day NY are our favorite and come from Gino’s Restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

4. Deck out your dessert buffet. There’s nothing more glamorous at a holiday party than an indulgent selection of treats displayed amidst golden floating candlelight. Don’t worry, you don’t have to buy-out the bakery in order to create this effect. Select several special desserts and serve them in “taste-size” portions. Dressed up fancy Italian cookies, such as Rainbow Cookies, make a splash and are already cut in bite-sized portions – cookies are always a popular item. Remember, your guests will only sample desserts, so plan accordingly – a small decadent cake that feeds 8-10 will serve 20-25 when served in this manner. Select a few specialty cakes and fill in with a variety of cookies or other treats.

The festive Rainbow Cookies we featured on Good Day NY came from Venieros in NYC . You can have delicious desserts from Venieros delivered to your door by ordering online here>

Throughout planning and hosting your party, remember your inspiration, reflective light – and remember to let your light shine as host! Follow our tips and make your guests sparkle from the inside out as you treat them to a special experience, making them feel so very good, and, oh, so special. Is there any better gift you can give this holiday season?

Many Warm Wishes for a Sparkling Holiday Season filled with Cheer,

Elizabeth & Dawn

On Tuesday night , Elizabeth and I,  finally had the opportunity to officially send off our new book PLAN TO PARTY with a launch party!  The party was hosted by Henri Bendel’s NYC which will carry the book and feature it for the holiday season.  We were thrilled to be able to party in style with friends, family and press at this beautiful venue that was decorated for the holidays with a NutCraker theme as a tribute to the NYC Ballet.  It could not have been more beautiful!  We also noshed on delicious food from our Partybluprint Picks Gino’s Brooklyn and Veniero’s NYC.  We sipped prosecco and toasted the success of Plan To Party and the holidays! Official Press Release:

Last night was the official roll out for ELIZABETH MASCALI and DAWN SANDOMENO’s new book on simple and special home entertaining called “PLAN TO PARTY” (Yorkshire Publishing) at Manhattan’s fashionable Henri Bendel on 57th and 5th. When we arrived to their third-floor aerie at 6:00PM, we found the authors already greeting a wide range of guests; including Robert Funaro from The Sopranos; actress/comedian Rachael Robbins; Keith Girard, editor from The Improper (; Aubrey Reuben from Playbill and the New York Post; Marcy MacDonald from AOL News; Dina Pitenis from Celebrity Bulletin; Alicia Yarbo from The Today Show; wine-guru Kirk Sprenger; Ed Bucciarelli, the Bendel CEO, stylist-makeup artist Deborah Altizio, and, Jodi Mellman, our new go-to-gal at the fantastic store … which by the way looked holiday-sensational. Two terrific food visionaries (Veniero’s) and (Gino’s, from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn) served the delectable food; everything from the succulent rice balls and mozzarella cheese creations to sumptuous pastry were served up as well. We met the lovely Maria Errico from Gino’s and Robert F. Zerilli from Veniero’s. The P2P authors have already appeared on the Martha Stewart Sirius/XM radio show Modern Living; Fox News; and, will next be appearing on Good Day New York in the next week with our fave Rosanna Scotto. The gorgeous book, with superb photos and text, illustrates perfectly the best way to plan-and-execute your own party. “One of the things we wanted to express here is how to make you feel like a guest at your own party; by reducing the stress involved with our revolutionary approach to entertaining,” says Mascali. The two authors also write the wildly successful blog, The Partybluprints website, which caught the attention of Yorkshire’s Todd Rutherford leading to the book. “The reaction has been overwhelming both on and off-line,” says Sandomeno. “It’s very gratifying to know we’ve struck a chord with our audience as it is our wish to inspire our readers to celebrate life” Our first Holiday event this season … and, it was radiant.

Holiday Recipes That Rock – By Bobby Flay

This week, Elizabeth and I were were invited to attend Hellmann’s® Holiday Tips with Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay and Actress/Mom Lori Loughlin.  At the event Bobby Flay served up some delicious holiday recipes, two featured leftover turkey and are perfect for the days following Thanksgiving.   Enjoy!

The crowd favorite was definitely the paela. I love it, because it’s a hearty one pot meal that has loads of flavor and is easy to make.  This will be an addition to my menu repertoire all year long!

TURKEY PAELLA WITH LEMON-SMOKED PAPRIKA AIOLIA Bobby Flay Recipe 6 servings, Prep Time: 25 minutes, Cook Time: 35 minutes

  • 1/4 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • 2-1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 1/2 lb. spicy turkey sausage or pork sausage, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • 1 small Spanish onion, chopped
  • 2 roasted red bell peppers, cut into thin strips
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1-1/2 cups uncooked regular or converted rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 lb. leftover turkey, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

  • Combine Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon peel and paprika with wire whisk in small bowl. Season, if desired, with salt and pepper; set aside.
  • Heat oil in 4-quart Dutch oven over high heat and cook sausage, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until golden brown and just cooked through. Remove to paper-towel-lined plate.
  • Cook onion in same Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 4 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in red peppers and garlic and cook 30 seconds. Stir in rice and cook, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes. Stir in broth. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer covered 15 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Stir in peas and turkey and let stand covered 5 minutes. Gently fold in lemon-paprika aioli and parsley. Season, if desired, with salt and pepper.

The Turkey Reuben is really a special sandwich that I would not have thought of for the day after Thanksgiving, but will definitely serve now.  The highlight of this sandwich is the delicious coleslaw, make extra, you will want this as a side too. Lori Loughlin was eating it out of the bowl, while Bobby was making the sandwiches – too good!  I learned a surprising new tip with this sandwich too –  skip the butter or margarine and lightly spread the outside of sandwiches with mayonniase before you grill them.  Yes!  I have never seen this done before and I have to say it crisped up the outside of the bread without weighing it down and making it greasy.

TURKEY REUBEN WITH THOUSAND ISLAND COLESLAW– A Bobby Flay Recipe 4 servings, Prep Time: 15 minutes, Cook Time: 10 minutes

  • 1/2 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, divided
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped dill pickle
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 lb. sliced cooked turkey

  • Combine 1/4 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, pickle, ketchup, vinegar and mustard with wire whisk in medium bowl. Season, if desired, with salt and pepper. Stir in coleslaw mix; set aside.
  • Top 4 bread slices with cheese, turkey, coleslaw mixture, then remaining bread slice. Evenly spread outside of sandwiches with remaining 1/4 cup Mayonnaise. Cook sandwiches, in batches, in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat, turning once, 8 minutes or until golden brown.

The MARTHA Blog Show!

Thursday, January 14th 9:40 am … Posting LIVE right now from the Martha Stewart Show.  I am looking forward to a wonderful show with one of my favorite bloggers, Pim of Chez Pim .  There is a great energy in the room with so many awesome bloggers in the house.  Elizabeth and I are sitting in between Jen Drexler of , Tonya Staab of  This and That Blog and Nichelle Pace of plus the audience is bursting with other bloggers, all of whom I would love to meet!  If you are not at the show,  we miss you, so join us on twitter hashtag: #blogshow!  Also follow @marthaaudiance for information on upcoming shows!

Thursday, January 14th 1:30 am… My two favorite things today:

1. Loved smelling Chez Pim blogger, Pim Techamuanvivit fill the studio with the smell of Pad Thai! Here is a link to her Pad Thai recipe >.  Plus she gave us each a copy of  her book, The Foodie Handbook.  I will share lots of it here on the blog with you!

2. Seeing Martha slap up her foot on her crafting island so we could see her shoes.  I am a shoe girl and when we asked what she was wearing she showed us.  I was as impressed with her 6″ YSL sandals, that she got on sale, as I was with the fact she could get her leg up on the crafting island!

The Blog Show

Explore the blogosphere with Martha and blogger guests! “Martha Moments” creator Andrew Ritchie shows you how to use leftover yarn to embellish cards for any occasion, “Chez Pim” author Pim Techamuanvivit shares a tasty recipe for authentic pad Thai, and Martha teaches “Cooking School” chronicler Jeff Blumenkrantz (“Jeff and Martha”) how to frost a cake. Pay attention to all the elements of your party and make sure they enhance, not detract, each one (consider it a symphony for the senses): the food, the tablescape, the music, the lighting, etc. If you achieve the right balance, your guests’ senses will be satisfied — resulting in relaxed and happy guests and the perfect party environment!” feature December 21, 2009 story

Our fabulous review on! – June 2009

JUNE 2009 – 3 Fabulous Foodie Blogs by: Jen Singer

Party Bluprints Blog ( Dawn Sandomeno and Elizabeth Mascali say they “believe that entertaining at home is a joyful and fulfilling experience.” I find it more joyful when my husband does the cooking, but I’m intrigued by these bloggers’ promise:  “Trust us, there is a way to entertain in your home and truly enjoy it.” They offer tips for no stress summer entertaining (sign me up) and way cool Bundt cakes that get shipped to you (count me in). Their newly redesigned blog makes it easy to find what you’re looking for with navigation tabs for: Party Themes, The Bar, The Table, The Menu, Hot Products and Cool Gifts. Their advice is sensible – “Focus on the guests, not the grill” – and practical – “Don’t set up your buffet table in the direct sunlight.” And it’s always helpful.
