I get asked all the time for gift ideas, so when I see a really unique and special one, I pass it along. Here is a great idea for kids from Little Passports.com . What I love about Little Passports is that it inspires a love and understanding of the world. It teaches a child about various countries’ geography, history, culture, and language in a fun and memorable way. Every month, Little Passport characters Sofia and Sam travel to a different country and send the gift recipient a personalized package. Not only do kids love receiving mail, it’s a gift that keeps giving all year long. In addition being a great gift, it’s a wonderful way to help children around the world. A portion of the proceeds for each subscription is donated to select charities. I also love a product that puts my money to work by pulling double duty! Little Passports has partnered with SOS Children’s Villages and the Ubuntu Education Fund to contribute to and help improve the lives of children around the world. A portion of the sale of every Little Passports subscription is donated to these organizations.
Little Passport subcriptions cost $10.95 per month. Here is how it works:
In the first month, the adventure starts with an Explorer Kit that includes a fun travel suitcase with an introductory letter from Sofia and Sam, a world wall map, a travel passport, fun stickers, an activity sheet, and access to a series of online games and activities with a collectible boarding pass. As an introduction to world geography, children will use the world map to solve the questions on the activity sheet and in the online games.
The adventure continues each following month, when children receive a package from Sam and Sofia as they travel to a new country. Each adventure package includes a personalized letter addressed to your child from Sam and Sofia, fun souvenirs, an activity sheet, a photo from the country, a passport stamp, a map marker, a suitcase sticker, and a collectible boarding pass to access more online games and activities.
The Little Passports souvenirs include items like, music CDs, traditional country toys, arts and crafts projects, puzzles, pencils/erasers, photos, stickers, and postcards. Items are appropriate for children 5 and up.
