The Perfect Easter Favor

Remember and celebrate what Easter is all about and gift your guests a symbolic favor.

The Sand Dollar is ideal.  Did you know they uniquely represent the story of the birth, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus and are a special way to teach children how God in visible in creation.

The legend of the Sand dollar
That I would like to tell
Of the birth and death of Jesus Christ
Found in this lowly shell.

If you will examine closely,
You’ll see that you find here
Four nail holes and a fifth one
Made by a Roman’s spear.

On one side the Easter Lily,
It’s center is the star
That appeared unto the shepherds
And led them from afar.

The Christmas Poinsettia
Etched on the other side
Reminds us of His birthday,
Our joyous Christmas tide.

Now break the center open
And here you will release
The five white doves awaiting
To spread good will and peace.

This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me.
To help to spread His Message
Through all eternity.

You can find Sand Dollars in most craft stores, and on here>.  A pretty way to gift them is to put one at each place setting on your Easter table.  In addition to using them as favors, invite the children at your Easter celebration to create colorful Sand dollar art!  Set up a craft table for young or young at heart party guests to paint sand dollars.  You can also print out the poem below on white paper and let children decorate it with colored pencils and crayons. It’s a great way to provide a fun and meaningful activity at your holiday celebration.

  4. This is a great idea for Easter. I have never heard the Sand Dollar used at Easter. And if you can not find them using the cut out with the Legend is great. The Bunny napkins are so cute. Love your ideas!
