How To Create A Party Photo Booth and Photo Book with Snapfish!

Elizabeth and I are always on the lookout for great party tips.  We are tough to please,  our criteria for a great party idea: must be fun, budget-friendly, simple to achieve and add a special feeling to the celebration.

Here’s one we love  – we think you will too!

IDEA: To create party fun and a lasting memory of a special event or milestone celebration, create a party photo booth and book.

WHY WE LOVE IT: We love this party idea for three reasons.

  1. A photo booth dresses up your party and makes for a festive decoration.
  2. It serves as a fun activity for your guests, just watch how everyone loves to get their picture snapped!
  3. Once you have all the pictures you can create a photo book as keepsake of your special day.  You can also gift it to the guest of honor at your baby shower, engagement, graduation, anniversary, retirement or birthday party.

HOW TO ACHIEVE IT: Just hang a sheet, curtain, or poster board up on an empty wall in your house.  You may need to move a piece of furniture or take down a picture if you’re like me and empty walls are scarce.  Use a removable tape or hooks, like command brand so that you don’t marr your wall.   Gather some props for the party, sunglasses, hats, moustaches on a stick, or whatever will go with your party theme.  Invite guests to stand alone or with a group in front of your backdrop and have some fun!  At the end of your party you can upload your pictures to snapfish.com to share with guests from the party.  They can print out the ones they like and you can create a photo book as a keepsake of your party or to gift to the guest of honor.  It’s so simple and special to do!

EXAMPLE: To walk you through an example, I’m documenting a party that Elizabeth and I are hosting this week.  It’s a birthday party for a friend.  She loves to travel and she’s getting a trip for her birthday from her husband as a present!  We’re creating a photo booth as a special birthday tribute to her to take pictures at the party.  We used 3M Command Brand removable hooks to hang red curtains as a back drop for the photo booth.  Snapfish sent along cute travel themed party decor and fun props for our photo booth.  When the party’s over we will create a photo book for our friend, so she can relive her birthday celebration anytime she likes and share the memory of the day with her husband and family who were not present.

Here’s a sneak peek at the pre-party set up.  I’ll post the full party recap after it happens…

It’s simple to create your own photo book. Here’s one we created to remember our favorite trip last year and all the amazing people we met at the party we hosted at Blog Her ’11.
