Chocolate Fondue is a great way ring in the New Year because fondue is fun to do and chocolate puts everybody in a good mood. One of the things I love best about fondue is it brings everybody to the table to participate. The circle is a symbol of good luck for the New Year so why not form one around some melted chocolate goodness !
Chocolate Lover’s Fondue from Hersheys – yields about 2 cups fondue.
- 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY’S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 3/4 cup light cream or half & half
- 1/2 cup sugar
1. Combine chocolate chips, light cream and sugar in heavy medium sauce. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate chips are melted and mixture is hot.
2. Pour into fondue pot or chafing dish; serve warm with Assorted Fondue Dippers.
Variation: 2 tablespoons kirsch (cherry-flavored liqueur) may be added before serving.
