SEX and the CITY 2 – Girls Night Out (and In)

Sex and the City is all about the Girls, so make the release of the new movie a good reason to get together your gal pals for a night in and out.  Start off your evening IN by inviting the girls over for some pre-movie fun (see our Six Cues for doing this SATC Style below).  Then head OUT to view the SEX and the City 2 movie together.

… but, no matter how you decide to party, you must take your cues from the “girls” and celebrate what matters most: the spirit of friendship.

Cue 1: APPRECIATE THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP.

The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don’t. But, in the end, they’re the people you always come home to.  Sometimes it’s the family you’re born into and sometimes it’s the one you make for yourself. - Carrie

Cue 2: BE IN THE PARTY SPIRIT.

I don’t believe in the Republican party or the Democratic party.  I just believe in parties. - Samantha

Cue 3: CALL TO INVITE YOUR GIRLFRIENDS TO THIS GIRLS ONLY NIGHT OUT/IN.

I don’t believe in email. I’m an old-fashioned girl. I prefer calling and hanging up. – Carrie

Cue 4: DRESS THE PART.

Tell your girlfriends to wear their favorite high heels, a touch of bling, and of course a great purse.

Cue 5: ORDER TAKE OUT and CUPCAKES

The only thing I’ve ever successfully made in the kitchen is a mess. And several little fires. – Carrie

Order in Chinese food and eat out of the cartons – the girls had plenty of booze, glasses, shoes and purses, but not much in the department of dishes and serving pieces. Makes for easy serving and cleaning up so you can get on your way to the movie.  For a sweet way to end your night have Cupcakes on hand.  Buy gourmet if you can, the really dreamy, decadent kind that Carrie made famous.  Give them the attention they deserve by serving them up on a pedestal dish.

Cue 6: HANG OUT.

In the end I decided I was definitely 34 going on 35, but in a city like New York, with its pace and its pressures, sometimes it’s important to have a 13-year-old moment. To remember a simpler time when the best thing in life was just hanging out, listening to records and having fun with your friends. - Carrie
