Are you experiencing a heat wave this week or watching the first leaves turn the color yellow? Depending on where you live, both are possibilities and make what to wear this time of year a challenge.
Late August through September is a tricky time of year to dress. In order to help make the task more manageable, we’re sharing transitional looks from a few of our favorite fashion and lifestyle influencers. Each look will inspire you to give your summer wardrobe a touch of fall.
A new favorite follow of ours is Access Hollywood style expert and executive producer of @ZotaProductions, Diane Mizota. Living in style conscious LA puts extra pressure on what to wear. We love the way Diane rocks these culottes that are totally cool for the season! Cropped pants are a must-have trend and work beautifully for transitioning a look from summer to fall. Not quite shorts or pants – the perfect middle ground. To follow Diane and check out her latest looks, head over to Instagram and give her a follow of your own – we LOVE her gallery!
Nicole Feliciano has been a favorite fashion resource of ours for years. Her MomTrends blog and instagram looks transcend motherhood with the emphasis on Trend not Mom. Nicole is based in Brooklyn and like her, those of us here in the tri-state area have gone from heat wave to high 70’s in just a week. We love Nicole’s transitional look for all your September parties. A cool summer dress with black leather cuff and sandals give this look just the right hint of fall. It just may be the perfect way to be party ready for a day in the 90’s or 70’s.
Jo Lynne Shane hails from the Philly area and has been blogging for years at JoLynneShane.com. More recently, she has become a breakout star on Instagram with posts that feature fashion trends you will love to wear everyday. Her bio reads: “Friends don’t let friends wear mom jeans” and for that reason alone you can consider Jo-Lynne a good friend. We love her fall transitional look that includes a lightweight poncho, breathable for warmer fall days, and perfect for layering on colder ones.
We have recently started following Take Time For Style. Kristen lives in Florida and since the temps won’t drop too low there, her take on how to update your look for a new season is perfect for those living in the southern regions of the US. Her black romper is a no brainer for the final months of summer. The color and style feel more fall than a light, bright sundress, yet is are still cool and comfortable for a hot, humid day.
