It’s a giant party that happens in New York City twice a year. . . NY Fashion Week, and this fall searsStyle is inviting YOU!
New York Fashion Week is where American designers produce elaborate shows featuring their upcoming collections. The shows are invite only, and attended by press, celebrities and socialites. Fashion is celebrated and flaunted on the runway; and while I truly appreciate its beauty and art, these shows are clearly aspirational fashion. The looks and prices are not unattainable or in the reach of most women. However, this year, there’s a new buzz on the street. An article in the Wall Street Journal, just a few days ago, touts “Cheap is the new chic in town” and credits fashion bloggers like Shauna Miller, the mastermind behind Penny Chic, with bringing stylish looks that don’t break the bank into the Fashion Week conversation. “It’s easy to look chic when money is no object,” said Miller. “The real challenge is learning how to look good and feel good by making the best out of what’s around you.” —Edited from an interview by Seunghee Suh.
For me, brands like searsStyle turn the recessionista into the fashionista; putting the looks that rock the runway at my fingertips! Not only is Sears bringing these affordable fashions to stores, they’re inviting YOU to join them at Fashion Week.
So get ready to strut the runaway, in the comfort of your own home for a #searsStyle Twitter Party LIVE from #NYFW12! searsStyle will be showcasing a few fabulous looks from the brands available at Sears during a searsStyle Blogger Brunch. It will be hosted live from New York’s Fashion Week. Plus, Kardashian Kollection head designer and Jupi president, Bruno Schiavi, will make a special appearance and giveaway a set of VIP tickets for an upcoming Kardashian Kollection personal appearance in Yonkers NY.
I’ll be tweeting with several top bloggers and your hosts from Collective Bias’ Social Fabric this Friday, September 7th 1-2pm EST from Bagatelle NYC. We’ll be talking about the great new fashions currently at Sears, like the Kardashian Kollection and Bongo and posting pictures from the event. This will be my 2nd trip to New York Fashion Week, so I’m very excited to be attending this exclusive event. It’s even more exciting because I can take you with me to a space and place where the digital and physical worlds will meet to celebrate affordable fashion and value shopping for REAL WOMEN – fashion for ALL. I hope to bring you a real taste of the energy and buzz that will be emanating from Fashion Week and some great tips and pictures from inside the event.
To get myself fashion ready, I headed to Sears and went straight to the Kardashian Kollection. I wanted to pick out clothes that would make me feel “fashion week” worthy, and the line gave me that confidence. The Kardashian Kollection “shop” feels like its own NYC boutique inside the giant store.
I loved all the red that was featured and easily picked out an armful of clothes to bring into the fitting room. Also, the shoes were seriously sexy and high, and the bags were cool. Once I decided on a look, I was able to go over to what looked like a jewelry bar and accessorize my outfit. It was easy, fun and felt special! And one of the best parts of my shopping trip was that I didn’t feel guilty at the register!
I will be wearing items from the Kardashian Kollection. I found a great outfit, that I feel good in, plus the clothes were affordable, so I was able to buy a new bag and jewelry to accessorize my look! I will mix and match the items I bought, with those in my wardrobe. I want to infuse my own style, because I’m not Khloe, Kim or Kourtney, I’m me! You can check out my shopping trip story here>
Stayed tuned for my look plus a recap with pictures from the event next week!
