Citizen Watch #BetterStartsNow For A Better You In 2015!

On January 14th, I attended a special event at the Citizen Times Square flagship store in New York City.  The event was a celebration of Citizen’s new “Better Starts Now” campaign.  It featured super-fast tips from top NYC experts on how to create a stronger, prettier and healthier you in 2015.  Citizen’s “Better Starts Now” is quite simply the belief that it is always possible to make something better, and that now is the time to start doing it.  This is a theme, I happily embrace in 2015.

The first watch I ever owned was a Citizen watch; it was a gift from my parents on my 16th birthday.  Since then some things have changed, and some haven’t.  Citizen is still the industry leader in the mid-priced watch market, but now their watches have eco-drive, a technology that harnesses the power of light (from any natural or artificial light source) and converts it into energy which is stored in a permanently rechargeable lithium-ion cell. It recharges continuously in any kind of light to run forever!  That means watches you wear, not ones that sit in a drawer waiting for a new battery.  It makes a great gift for those you love this year.

Christian Zamora is an expert stylist whose work has been seen on the pages of WWD and Vogue. His client list reads like a Who’s Who from the world of movies, music, and TV.  My take-away from his presentation was 2015 is the year of the LASH. Extension and mascara are a girl’s best friend and are best way to bring attention to your eyes.

Celebrity Trainer Scott Hamilton is a top tier expert whose background includes one-on-one fitness at Equinox, Tracy Anderson and leading New York locations. He demonstrated his fitness hack for better lunges, plus other ways to tone up in 2015. It’s easier than you think!

Lynne Roberts got her start in fashion by working at Harper’s Bazaar and soon after joined The Echo Design Group. She has been in the fashion industry for many years and brings her expertise and fresh ideas to the fashion accessories and home design company. Lynne demonstrated several ways to dress up a plain back outfit with a colorful scarf!

Carol Rubin is a registered dietitian-nutritionist and holds a Master of Medical Science in Clinical Nutrition from Emory University and a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her “Better Starts Now” tips included a pick for a great way to start the day.  She recommends Qia for breakfast, and shared that it’s not your grandma’s oatmeal.

If you visit the Citizen Times Square flagship store ask for Earnst, the General Manager. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and helped me continue my family tradition, by picking out a watch to gift my son for his high school graduation.

THE VENUE
