This festive cocktail is a great make-ahead drink when entertaining. Simply mix it up ahead of time, refrigerate and it’s ready to pour. Serve it in a glass martini pitcher with stirrer (the one pictured here is a 1960’s martini pitcher from my parents’ collection). You can either allow guests to help themselves at a self-serve bar or pour a welcome cocktail for each guest as they arrive. Keep a “back-up batch” cool in the refrigerate to replenish pitcher as necessary.
(Makes 8 drinks/4 oz. each)
- 16 oz. vodka
- 8 oz. Cointreau (orange-flavored liqueur)
- 8 oz. pomegranate juice
- ½ cup fresh lime juice
- Pour all ingredients into a pitcher, stir, cover and refrigerate.
- When ready to serve, give it a good stir and pour into martini glasses.
- Garnish with lime twists. ( below BAR TRICKS)
Tip: Make sure you have an ice bucket at your bar, so guests who don’t want such a “stiff” drink can add a cube or two
