World Cup Caipirinha Cocktail Recipe!


The 2014 FIFA World Cup is about to kick off (literally) in Brazil today!   In honor of the sport the world will be watching, and the host country of this year’s games we’re saying Saude! and Tim tim! with a homemade Brazilian Caipirinha!  Enjoy the games and this cocktail with the recipe below.



(Makes 1 cocktail)


  • 2 oz. Cachaca
  • ½ lime – cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 oz. mint infused simple syrup (see recipe below)
  • 1 mint spring
  • 1 lime wheel


Squeeze lime pieces into glass. Fill glass ¾ with crushed ice. Add Cachaca and mint infused simple syrup. Stir with stirrer and garnish with fresh mint spring and lime wheel.

Mint Infused Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves

Combine all ingredients in non-stick saucepan. Heat on medium and stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain through fine mesh sieve, store in airtight container in refrigerator.
