Valentine’s Day Treat

The perfect blend of fudge chocolate dressed in red and kissed with a dollop of milk chocolate. Make the dough ahead of time, refrigerate and then when you’re ready for some fresh baked cookies, simply roll and bake. These festive cookies are the perfect edible valentine to gift!

Chocolate Kiss Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate (melted & cooled)
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour*
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Decorative Red Sugar Crystals
  • 60 chocolate kisses

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate – set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Add granulated sugar, oil, vanilla and chocolate to mixer. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Mix in eggs, one at a time.
  4. Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix just until combined.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°.
  7. Pour sprinkles into a pie dish.
  8. Roll teaspoons of dough into balls and drop into sprinkles. Roll dough balls in sprinkles until generously covered. P
  9. Place balls about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  10. 10. Bake 9-10 minutes. Don’t overbake. They are best when slightly fudgy. If you overbake them, they turn cake-like and crunchy when cooled.
  11. 11. Allow to cool for a moment; and, then top each with a chocolate kiss.
  12. 12. Store in airtight container.

  1. Yum, these look so good! I really like the idea of preparing the dough in advance. Definitely going to make these for my family this Saturday for a sweet little Valentine treat! 😉
