Earth Day is Sunday, April 22nd – Do something special to celebrate Mother Earth!
Today is my son’s birthday, and I’m knee deep in preparation, however I could not let the week go by without a personal nod to Earth Day. After a walk around my yard, a good look in my kitchen cabinets and junk drawers, I found a few things I could use to create a pretty table for Earth Day! The goal was not to purchase anything new and recycle what I might throw away. It’s simple but you get the idea. Please share your ideas in the comments below, I would love to try them!
I walked my yard to look for flowers in bloom or pretty greens that I could turn into a simple centerpiece. You’ll be surprised how much you have in your own back yard that can look fabulous on the table. Open the kitchen cabinets and take a good look for anything you can use as a small vase or a large container, if you need something bigger. It just so happens that I used the last paper towel this morning; so I decided to use it to make napkin rings. I cut the empty paper towel roll into 5 pieces ( you can get 4 – 6 depending on the width you prefer), then I wrapped it with some leftover ribbon I had. They look great!
